Cycle Sundays: Celebrating Everyday Cycling in London
Volta de bicicleta
This summer Transport for London (TfL) has launched the 'Cycle Sundays' campaign, aiming to encourage more Londoners to explore the city on two wheels. By partnering with Strava, TfL is making route discovery easier for everyday cyclists, highlighting safe and scenic paths across the capital.
This collaboration taps into the power of Strava Metro, where every ride shared publicly (or to followers) on Strava helps TfL understand where cyclists are riding, guiding the development of safer, more connected cycling networks.
JOIN The TfL Cycle Sundays Club
The Cycle Sundays initiative is part of TfL’s broader efforts to promote cycling as a sustainable and enjoyable mode of transport. Through Strava, cyclists can discover over 70+ curated routes that showcase the best of London, from quiet streets to iconic landmarks, all while contributing to the city’s future.
The new routes have been carefully selected by TfL and a range of partners including British Cycling, Cycle Sisters, JoyRiders, London Cycling Campaign, Sustrans, and Wheels for Wellbeing. Routes include tours of London’s best parks like Greenwich and Battersea as well as routes through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Marshes and Ally Pally.
Cycle Sundays not only celebrates the joy of cycling but also empowers cyclists to play a role in shaping London’s transport landscape. With Strava Metro data-driven insights, the city is moving closer to becoming a cyclist-friendly metropolis, ensuring that every ride counts towards a better, safer, and greener London. Whether you’re a seasoned commuter or a weekend explorer new to cycling, Cycle Sundays is a chance to discover new routes and contribute to the future of cycling in the capital.
