STRAVA GUIDE: How to Protect Your Privacy and Control Your Data
多種運動

Most workouts start and end somewhere personal. That’s why safety and privacy are built into how Strava works — every day, not just today.
Every time someone records an activity on Strava, they’re trusting us with more than just miles and minutes. They’re sharing where they move, when they move, and how movement fits into their lives. As a result, safety and privacy are foundational to how we build our product and support a global community of athletes.
Here are some of the ways Strava helps athletes stay safe, protect their privacy, and stay in control of their data.
Privacy that adapts to real life
Athletes move through personal spaces like starting their runs from home or work, incorporating activity in childcare pickup and drop off, or training near school. With Privacy Zones, athletes can automatically hide sensitive locations on their maps. You choose the area, and Strava takes care of the rest by removing start and end points from activities.
Sharing, on your terms
Our Beacon feature allows users to share their live location with a trusted contact while they’re moving, offering peace of mind during solo runs or rides. At the same time, users always control when Beacon is on and who can see them.
Route planning with confidence
For athletes training early in the morning or after dark, Night Heatmaps show commonly used routes based on activity data from the past year between sunset and sunrise. This helps athletes make more informed decisions about where they might want to work out next, without exposing individual activity details.
Control of experience
You can choose who sees your profile, activities, and maps, and update those settings whenever your needs change. Whether that’s a single activity or an entire workout history, users can access, download, or delete their data at any time.
We believe staying active and staying safe should go hand in hand.
