Runners in Denver really seem to have it all — open space, urban pathways, mountain trails, and a famously outdoorsy culture. Going for a jog, hike, or bike ride is just what you do on a sunny afternoon here, so it’s no surprise that running and walking groups are so easy to find in the Mile High City.

Whether you’re new to Denver, new to running, or you’ve been around a while and just want some fresh fitness motivation — there’s no shortage of reasons to find a local running club and meet some new friends. Here are some of the best running clubs in Denver to choose from.

Road Running and Track Clubs

Denver’s road running clubs promise a welcoming community for any type of athlete. It doesn’t matter if you’re training for the Colfax Marathon or just looking for a weekly social hour, you can certainly find a crew to support your goals and make sure you’re having fun in the process.

Rocky Mountain Road Runners

This is a racing-focused club known for its strong coaching and competitive runners, but you don’t have to be an elite runner to join. RMRR is for anyone looking to push their limits and achieve a personal best. The club hosts group runs that are free for anyone to join, while members can attend regular track workouts and race training programs.

Colorado Harriers

This is the Denver-based sister club of a NYC crew called the New York Harriers, and the founders have helped recreate a vibrant urban run club in their new city. The CO Harriers hold group runs, track workouts, and race-specific training plans with the help of dedicated coaches. They are focused on progression and performance but welcome runners of all abilities. Membership is open to anyone and is donation-based, making this truly one of the most accessible clubs in Denver.

Boulder Road Runners

This club has been around longer than almost all the rest. For over forty years the Road Runners have promoted running, walking, and general fitness in the Boulder Community. They host fun runs, races, and social events all year long while maintaining commitment to service and inclusivity. The club welcomes athletes of all abilities who want to stay fit and keep connected in Boulder.

TEAM Boulder Run Club

Troop Events Athlete Management (T.E.A.M.) Boulder is a run crew and a race management company focused on advancing all forms of running in Boulder. They welcome all ages and abilities into their community club, and they offer coach-led training sessions for adults. The club also fields an elite racing team that requires qualification to join.
