Keep Momentum All Winter Long with Strava
Multi-sport
, by Alicia Fields

Stay consistent through the colder months by tracking every indoor workout and snow sport in one place.
Winter changes how athletes train. For some, the dark mornings and cold miles move the work indoors. For others, it's the season they've been waiting for. The goal is the same either way: keep showing up. Here's how Strava helps, from the gym to the mountain.
However you train inside, it counts
Treadmill miles, a Pilates class, a circuit at the gym. Strava supports more than a dozen indoor sport types, including strength, circuit training, treadmill, stair stepper, Pilates, yoga and padel, so your winter shows up as the full picture of how you train, not just the runs and rides. Your streak keeps building through the cold months too, and the Streaks widget puts it on your home screen.
Build your base with strength
When the miles get harder to come by, winter is the right time to build the strength that carries into spring. Log your sets, reps and weight in seconds, and a muscle map builds automatically from your workout. Not sure where to start? Free users have the option to trial one part of a four-part Intro to Strength series, and subscribers get a full library of strength workouts, recorded right in the app.
For more on what's changed with Strength on Strava this year, including new ways to log your sets and 14 integrations that sync your lifts, see our recent What's New stories.
Make it count in the snow
If winter is your season, Strava keeps up on the mountain and now Cross-country skiers can log skate and classic ski as their own sport types. The winter map shows lift stations and ski runs, and subscribers can add 3D terrain and Avalanche Gradient layers to read the terrain before heading out.
Chairlift time is left out of your stats automatically, so your totals reflect what you actually skied. You can see your runs, downhill distance and average downhill speed as you go, and subscribers get run-by-run analysis afterward and can share the day as a Flyover with the winter map theme.
Keep showing up
Winter doesn't mean slowing down. It means widening what training looks like. Whether you're lifting in the dark or making fresh tracks on the mountain, every workout counts toward the same progress, from your first indoor session of the season to your last spring ascent. Open the app and log your next one.
