Spotted on Strava: Pogi Wins the Giro, 3 Peaks Record and a Strawberry

When do so many things to look out for on Strava become too many things to look out for on Strava? How about this weekend? Because if it wasn't the Giro it was an FKT, and if it wasn't an FKT it was someone drawing a massive Strawberry. Yes, whichever way you looked on the platform, something remarkable was happening.

Where else to start than where we started last week, at the Giro d'Italia. Because, on Sunday, Giro debutante Tadej Pogacar sealed an emphatic victory and laid down a marker for next month's Tour de France. Pogacar finished 9 minutess 56 seconds ahead of Colombia's Daniel Martinez - the largest margin of victory in the Giro since 1965. He also won six stages outright during the race, meaning the ride back into Rome was a relaxed affair for Pogi.

While Tadej Pogačar was dominating the mountains in Italy, Imo Boddy was conquering a truly impressive 3 Peaks challenge. Imo not only climbed the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) but also ran between the three. She completed the 423 miles / 680km challenge in 6 days, 5hrs, 43mins, breaking the record set by Ann Sayer back in 1979.

Back on two wheels but staying in the UK, and the festival of cycling that is RideLondon took over the British capital this weekend. Dutch cyclist Lorena Wiebes won the three stages of the RideLondon Classique to take the overall title, before more than 50,000 people took part in the mass-participation ride. Some raced, some soaked up a route that took in some of the UK's most famous landmarks, but everyone enjoyed the standout event.

While RideLondon was inspiring the UK, more than 10,000 runners were out celebrating BolderBoulder - one of the largest 10k races in the world. At the same time, over in Spain Kilian Jornet was once again enjoying the view from the top step of the podium after winning Zegama - his 11th victory at the race. But while there was a familiar face on the top step of the podium in the men's race, there was a debutante taking the tape in the women's. Sylvia Nordskar took her first win at the event against a stacked field that included Dani Moreno and Theres Leboeuf.

And, finally, nothing says Summer like the smell of freshly cut grass and the sweet, sweet taste of a Strawberry. But did you know that San Francisco is actually a city masquerading as a strawberry in disguise? Us neither, but Janine Strong made the startling discovery during this Summery 55 mile / 90km ride.
